Peter Lepatourel's Greenhouse

Pictured in the center is Peter and to his right is his brother-in-law, Roswell B. Arnett who worked in the greenhouses. They are standing next to a 17-foot tall cabbage plant, which is 2-1/2 years old and still growing.  Attached to the cabbage is a ribbon he won at the state fair for the plant. Running by the side of the greenhouse is a row of prized Marcelah Niel Rose bushes. The flowers are fragrant, golden-yellow colored emerging from shapely, pointed buds and are highly scented. They best survive near a greenhouse or a warm sheltered position to thrive. The rose is named after a French general who was a Minister of War for Napoleon III. First bred in France in 1864,  by Pradel.
